Recently, students and teachers of grade 4 SenTia School had a field trip to the ancient Bat Trang Pottery Village of Bat Trang. The children all listened attentively, took notes carefully, and pondered carefully when learning about the history and traditions of this place.
Ban Xoay Square – the first stop made the children exclaim in admiration when looking at the Pottery Village Museum. Taking ideas from the production tools of the craft village, from the image of the Red River waves, the architects have designed a unique space, one of the famous check-in locations in Hanoi.
Historical knowledge about the pottery village has been integrated in the game called Ancient Village Code (Mat ma lang co) by the tour guides. The students acquired lots of useful knowledge when working together in groups to complete the missions of finding destinations in the game.
The experience named “I am a Bat Trang ceramic artist” (Toi la nghe nhan gom Bat Trang) not only helped our little artisans learn more about the techniques and stages of pottery making but also skillfully make ceramic products with many different shapes such as a heart bowl, a winding vase, etc.
Visiting the art space “Light Sculpture” (Dieu khac anh sang) – the last activity of the trip was also the experience that left the students the most impression. The artists have created meaningful paintings from ordinary items such as defective pieces of pottery, used brushes, etc.
What an memorable picnic! The trip was not only a reward after half a semester of hard studying but also gave the children profound and meaningful lessons, moments of relaxation, and bonds between teachers and friends.
