Ensuring safety within the school environment is a top priority for SenTia. The school coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department and the Rescue Police Department of Nam Tu Liem District to organize a training course and fire drills for all students.
The training aimed to raise awareness and improve the ability to handle emergencies effectively. It was divided into two main parts: theoretical learning and practical experience across three stations.
Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tung, the Fire Prevention and Fighting University lecturer, provided comprehensive knowledge on fire prevention, covering common causes of fires and guidelines for responding to specific escape situations.
In addition to the theoretical component, students actively participated in fire prevention and fighting drills at three practice stations:
– Escaping from a smokehouse, with instructions on using the bell-light combination, and fire alarm button, and an introduction to the hose’s purpose and usage.
– Learning to use a fire extinguisher (with fire and fire extinguisher spray).
– Escaping from an elevator and utilizing a slow-rope descent.
Under the enthusiastic guidance of fire prevention and fighting professionals, students focused on practicing coordination to ensure that everyone acted promptly in the event of an incident. The activity helps students raise awareness of fire prevention and emergency responses at school and in daily life and fosters teamwork and mutual support.
Bui Son Bach (8A1) shared at the end of the training session: “Today’s fire prevention and fighting training activity was really useful. I was especially impressed with the slow-rope escape drill because this is a vital skill for anyone living in buildings.”
