That’s why I participated in the mini talk “Secrets to building a study abroad profile”, meeting and chatting with speaker Tran Dac Minh Trung, a Master of Education at Harvard University and the Deputy Director of American Study.
During the session, I learned more about the key elements of a study abroad profile, important milestones in the admission process, the benefits of early preparation, and how to create a well-balanced profile Furthermore, understanding what universities look for in applications and interviews can help students prepare effectively. The speaker also addressed common problems encountered during the profile-building process through questions from the students.
As a student aspiring to study abroad, this talk show provided me a better understanding of what a typical study abroad profile entails, allowing for better planning. A successful profile should include a balance of Academic, Community, and Personal statements. Many students sometimes focus too much on their GPA and certificates like SAT, AP, or IELTS, club activities, and charity work. They tend to forget the importance of highlighting personal interests and experiences alongside their academic achievements to capture the attention of university admissions. The talk show has brought SenTian a lot of useful information to help everyone get closer to their dream of studying abroad at top universities.
To assist students in their early preparation for higher education, SenTia School regularly organizes events and talk shows featuring speakers and experts in the Study Abroad – Career Orientation – University program, offering valuable guidance for students’ university and career paths.
