What if history were no longer just numbers or familiar pages in textbooks? At SenTia, the heroic stories of the Lý–Trần dynasties have been brought back to life by us, the Grade 7 SenTians, through creative ideas and projects in our Midterm II History assignment.

Some students carefully designed character cards, organizing historical achievements by hand, researching the lives of historical figures, and sketching their appearances. Others showcased their creativity by transforming familiar games into exciting “knowledge arenas”. These included a Monopoly-style board game where historical landmarks replaced modern streets, and a role-playing game called “Đại Việt War Chronicles” — a fresh twist on the Werewolf game — where the people and soldiers of Đại Việt worked together to identify the hidden “Northern shadows”. With each round, we felt as if we were traveling back in time — from the founding of the nation and the relocation of the capital under the Lý dynasty to the determined “Sát Thát” (Defeat the Mongols) spirit of the Trần dynasty during the three resistance wars against the Mongol–Yuan forces.

The excitement of the project did not stop at creative products; it extended into our lessons as historical knowledge was turned into diverse challenges. There were fast-paced quiz rounds on the Blooket platform that required quick thinking to answer history questions, as well as thrilling “betting” games where each student had to carefully consider their choices. Sometimes, after overcoming challenging questions, the whole class burst into laughter and cheered with a lucky can toss that brought delightful surprises. Each activity had its own unique style, but together they made our history lessons more lively and engaging than ever before.

More than just a major assignment, this project gave every SenTian the chance to revisit history in our own way. Perhaps the most memorable part was not the grades or the reviewed knowledge, but the moment we realized that history has never been forgotten or left behind. History continues to live in the stories that are retold, in the pride we hold for the past, and in the way today’s younger generation continues to explore, preserve, and carry forward those glorious legacies in our own unique ways.
